Oral presentation will be given by KU Leuven on Platirus and “Non-aqueous Solvent Extraction of Platinum Group Metals using Undiluted
Ionic Liquids” during the 27th Conference on Molten Salts and Ionic Liquids – EuCheMSIL 2018.

It will be held from 7-12th October 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal.
This series of meetings initiated in 1966 as EUCHEM Conference on Molten Salts in Norway. After molten salt and ionic liquid communities joined forces in 2006, it developed to a true European event organized every two years. EuCheMSIL 2018 will promote intense interaction between both molten salt and ionic liquid research and will cover fundamental aspects as well as all kind of application driven and applied research in ionic media over wide temperature ranges.

After successful meetings in Tallinn (2014) and Vienna (2016), the EUCHEM Conference on Molten Salts and Ionic Liquids will travel to the UNESCO world-heritage listed town of Lisbon, with the Monastery of the Hieronymites (Jerónimos) and the Tower of Belém. Located at the westernmost part of Europe, Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the oldest in Western Europe and very easy to reach. Recognized as a global city because of its importance in finance, commerce, media, entertainment, arts, international trade, education and tourism, it is one of the major economic centers on the continent, with a growing financial sector and one of the largest container ports on Europe’s Atlantic coast.

The conference will take place in the monumental area of Belém (Empire Square), at the CCB – Fundação Centro Cultural de Belém, a wonderful cultural and meeting structure, to promote interaction and discussion between attendees in the spirit of previous meetings. Participants will experience the unique atmosphere of culture and historical places in Portugal’s capital city, the feeling of the first discoveries, the river and the sea, and the gastronomy and wines.
